Youth Education
“Wild About Music” Youth Concerts
World renowned guest artists, the Glacier Symphony, and ensembles from the GSC perform 50 minute concerts in Kalispell, Whitefish, Bigfork, and Columbia Falls to introduce elementary students to classical music, musical instruments, and composers. Area public and private schools and the Home School Association receive concert information and reservation forms prior to each concert.
The first concert of our 2008-09 Season is planned for late October. Invitations will be sent in September, 2008. Please call the GSC office at 257-3241×4 to ask for information or to have your name added to the invitation list.
Children’s Instrument Petting Zoo
The League of GSC offers a hands-on program for school children to get “up close and personal” with instruments of the orchestra. The program allows young children a chance to see, feel, touch, and sometimes play, a variety of instruments.

Master Classes
Opportunities for young musicians to work directly with guest artists and orchestra members. Information about master classes is sent to area schools and music teachers prior to master classes.

Adult Education
Concert Talks: Pre-Concert Lectures
Presented before select Masterworks Series concerts and open to any concert-goer, the Music Director, Chorale Conductor and guest artists share their musical expertise and insights. Pre-Concert Lectures usually occur at October, November, February, and May concerts and will be held in a room near the performance venue. Check with the GSC office to find out more details.
Musician Education Program
Enables GSC orchestra members to take private lessons or attend music symposia.
Master Classes
Opportunities for musicians to work directly with guest artists and orchestra members.
Outreach Activities
Concert and recital performances for students and adults in outlying communities such as Eureka, Somers, Fortine, Libby, Plains, Polson, St. Ignatius, and Trego. Includes musical visits to public venues and area nursing homes.
